Baby vs. Cobra

Some people are just plain fucked up!

Apparently, pitting baby against cobra is a rite of passage (or as this article says, “a ‘bite’ of passage) for snake-charming families in India. It is supposed to teach the child not to fear the snake.

The cobra has been defanged and its mouth is stitched up. But it doesn’t make the video any less frightening. Not to mention that cobras’ fangs grow back quickly, according to animal rights groups protesting this practice.

Even if the fangs are not an issue, the last few seconds of the video are even scarier. And they showcase another danger with this practice.

What Jeff Killed

Here is a site about a outdoor house-cat that brings all kinds of delicious goodies home to his master.

What Jeff Killed – whatjeffkilled.com

Our cat Lucy has killed a bird and left it by my passenger tire. I have seen her chasing robins, but I have seen them retaliate and come after her too. Probably to protect the nest. It is hilarious to watch a cat being chased by birds.

Don’t have to go to prison if you are tiny

In today’s “WTF” category,

A man found guilty of sexually assaulting a child has been given 10 years of probation by a judge who said the man was too small to survive prison.

District Judge Kristine Cecava of Cheyenne County sentenced Richard W. Thompson, 50, Tuesday on two counts of sexually assaulting a minor.

“What you have done is absolutely inexcusable,” she said.

His crimes deserved a long sentence, Cecava said, but she expressed concern that the 5-foot-1 Thompson would be especially imperiled by prison dangers.

I’ve got nothing to add to this.

Bigs bunny: monster rabbit devours English veggie plots – Yahoo! News

LONDON (AFP) – In a tale reminiscent of the last Wallace and Gromit movie, furious villagers in northeast England have hired armed guards to protect their beloved communal vegetable gardens from a suspected monster rabbit.

Leeks, Japanese onions, parsnips and spring carrots have all been ripped up and devoured by the mystery were-rabbit — prompting the 12 allotment holders in Felton, north of Newcastle, to hire two marksmen with air rifles and orders to shoot to kill.

“It is a massive thing. It is a monster. The first time I saw it, I said: ‘What the hell is that?’” the Northumberland Gazette newspaper quoted local resident Jeff Smith, 63, as saying on its website (www.northumberlandtoday.co.uk).

He claims to have seen the black and brown rabbit — with one ear bigger than the other — about two months ago, and at least three fellow allotment holders say they have seen it as well.

“I have seen it and it is bigger than a normal rabbit. It’s eating all our crops and we grow the best stuff here,” said retired miner George Brown, 76, quoted by the domestic Press Association news agency.

Smith could not be reached for comment Friday, but his mother told AFP that the hare-raising story is true — and no less an authority than the British Rabbit Council said it was credible.

“Certain breeds do grow very big, like the Continental Giant” which can be 66 centimetres (26 inches) in length or more, a spokesman for the Nottinghamshire-based council, which represent rabbit breeders, told AFP.

In the last hit movie featuring Wallace and his dog Gromit, the two cartoon characters battled a monster rabbit that was cutting a swathe of destruction through locals’ prize vegetable plots.

British prisoner changes sex but then changes mind

LONDON (AFP) – A British prisoner who transferred from a men’s jail to a women’s facility after changing sex has opted to swap gender — and prisons — again.

John Pilley was granted permission in 1999 to have a sex change, the procedure taking place two years later after which, as Jane Anne Pilley, he was moved to Holloway women’s prison in London.

However, the 54-year-old, serving a life sentence for attempted murder and kidnapping, has decided to become a man again, The Times newspaper reported.

When asked why he/she changed his/her mind, Mr. Pilley, er Mrs. Pilley simply replied “the sex was better.”

Murderous Santa display draws stares

Christmas is a religious holiday. Well, not really. In North America it’s a commercial holiday. But all holidays in North America are commercial. Next month, Valentine’s cards, cute stuffed bears, chocolates, jewelry, hearts, etc. will be on display. Then the Easter Bunny. In North America, anything can be commercialized. Remember the Pet Rock. People bought rocks as pets! Is there any sense of protesting it? I could protest it but that would make me a hypocrite. I usually participate in all the jazz cause it is fun. It’s a hit on the wallet, that’s for sure, but it is fun. I don’t like receiving gifts. Even from my own family. But I do like giving out the presents. Usually, on Christmas morning, I sit back and just watch the events unfold. Then I get to play with my son’s toys! That is a blast!

NEW YORK (AP) — It’s usually easy to tell where a person stands in the culture wars, but whose side is someone on when his Christmas decor is a blood-spattered Santa Claus holding a severed head?

Joel Krupnik and Mildred Castellanos decked the front of their Manhattan mansion this year with a scene that includes a knife-wielding 5-foot-tall St. Nick and a tree full of decapitated Barbie dolls. Hidden partly behind a tree, the merry old elf grasps a disembodied doll’s head with fake blood streaming from its eye sockets.

Teacher who had sex with teenager gets three years of house arrest

Man, shit like this never happened to me when I was 14. Then again non of the teachers were any hot except for this substitute teacher named Ms. Sutton. Yeah, she was hot. I was 11 so probably a no go.

Ok, she qualifies as a hottie for a teacher. She plead guilty for having sex with a 14 year old boy. I bet his dad was high fiving him. This seems to be a recurring theme. I remember hearing about this shit when I was in school, but I never believed it. Guess it does happen.

TAMPA, Fla. – A teacher pleaded guilty Tuesday to having sex with a 14-year-old boy, avoiding prison as part of a plea agreement.

Debra Lafave, 25, whose sensational case made tabloid headlines, will serve three years of house arrest and seven years’ probation. She pleaded guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious battery.

The former Greco Middle School reading teacher apologized during the hearing, saying, “I accept full responsibility for my actions.”

The boy told investigators the two had sex in a classroom at the Greco school, located in Temple Terrace near Tampa, as well as in her Riverview townhouse and once in a vehicle while his 15-year-old cousin drove them around Marion County.

The boy told investigators Ms. Lafave told him her marriage was in trouble and that she was aroused by the fact that having sex with him was not allowed. He said he and Ms. Lafave, a newlywed at the time, got to know each other on their way back from a class trip to SeaWorld Orlando in May 2004.

Snake bursts after gobbling gator

The predators died in the clash

An unusual clash between a 6-foot (1.8m) alligator and a 13-foot (3.9m) python has left two of the deadliest predators dead in Florida’s swamps.

The Burmese python tried to swallow its fearsome rival whole but then exploded.

The remains of the two giant reptiles were found by astonished rangers in the Everglades National Park.

The rangers say the find suggests that non-native Burmese pythons might even challenge alligators’ leading position in the food chain in the swamps.

The python’s remains with the victim’s tail protruding from its burst midsection were found last week. The head of the python was missing.

“Encounters like that are almost never seen in the wild… And here we are,” Frank Mazzotti, a University of Florida wildlife professor, was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency.

“They were probably evenly matched in size. If the python got a good grip on the alligator before the alligator got a good grip on him, he could win,” Professor Mazzotti said.

He said the alligator may have clawed at the python’s stomach, leading it to burst.

“Clearly, if they can kill an alligator they can kill other species,” Prof Mazzotti said.

He said that there had been four known encounters between the two species in the past. In the other cases, the alligator won or the battle was an apparent draw.

Burmese pythons – many of whom have been dumped by their owners – have thrived in the wet and hot climate of Florida’s swamps over the past 20 years.
