Guitar Hero and Rock Band

I did it. I bought Rock Band for the PS3 and it is definitely worth it! I have had Guitar Hero II and III for a while now, but just recently I got to playing them again. I will be the first to admit that I have no rhythm. I can fuck up clapping to the beat of a song. So that fact that I can play most of GH and RB on medium for the guitar is a huge step for me. I think if I practiced a little more I could make the jump to hard, but I am not nearly ready for that. On the drums, I am on easy right now and I find it harder to get use to then the guitar. Singing, forget about it. I suck moose cock on singing. I can’t even go into detail of the level of suckage that I am probably at for singing. The whole reason I don’t sing during the national anthem at hockey games is because I am sure someone will probably punch me in the face. So, I only sing when no one is around.

Likes
I like the selection in both games and a little more in GH because it has been around longer. I haven’t downloaded any of the music for RB at the Playstation Store, but I am pretty sure there is a decent collection.

Dislikes
The fact that the guitars are cross-platform incompatible. Right now I have GH for the PS2 and RB for the PS3. But I was thinking of buying the newing GH games for the PS3 and using my RB guitar, but nope! They are not compatible. How fucked is that? My other dislikes with the guitars are that on RB, the buttons are narrower and closer together then they are for GH. I am forever fat fingering the buttons. But I am sure I will get use to it. And in GH, I hate the clicking for the strumming and I find the buttons rigid. I should mention that I use the TAC Freedom V wireless controller and not the wired controller that comes with the package.

In the end, I think both games are worth their price and I am sure I will get many hours of game play out of it.

Monopoly to use Credit Cards

Well, so much for the designated smart guy as the banker.

Monopoly Credit Card

Gear Factor
Monopoly is keeping step with changing technology. The new version of Parker’s classic board game dispenses with the colored currency and instead employs Visa mock debit cars. The card is inserted into an electronic machine where the banker records the players’ earnings and payments. For this updated game, Parker partnered with Visa, which made the card and banking machine. The game, dubbed Monopoly Here and Now Electronic Banking, retails for about $46.

Girls attempt real-life version Super Mario Bros

Potential criminal charges for the girls simulating this 80s video game. Residents thought the boxes with the gold question marks painted on them looked suspicious.

Girls attempt real-life version of video game

Five teenage girls from Portage County face potential criminal charges after attempting to play a real-life version of Super Mario Bros.

The Portage County Hazardous Materials Unit and Bomb Detection Unit were called in to downtown Ravenna on Friday morning after seventeen suspicious packages — boxes wrapped in gold wrapping paper with question marks spray painted on them — had alarmed residents.

Boxes were found at the Immaculate Conception Church on West Main Street, the Portage County Courthouse, Deluxe Pastries, the corner of Cherry Way and Main Street, Reed Memorial Library, Ravenna High School and a residence at Sanford and Main streets.

Five girls — age 16 and 17 — claimed responsibility for making and placing the packages. The girls said they found an Internet site that included step-by-step instructions for creating replicas of blocks featured in the game.

The Ravenna Police Department will be working with the Portage County Prosecutor’s Office regarding possible criminal charges as a result of the game.

Ratchet: Deadlocked

I’ve been playing this for a couple days. The game involves Ratchet competing in a reality tv show. I’m not sure if I’m enjoying it as much as the other 3 games in the series. I feel like I’m being rushed through the maps and there doesn’t really feel like there’s a goal to each planet. You still collect bolts, but there’re no hidden gold bolts or anything like that. Also, Clank doesn’t ride on your back in this game. He sits in a command room and gives you tips, kind of like the Gadgetron helpdesk lady does in the other games. It’s still well made and fun to play. I just miss Clank :)
