It darted onto the road and I heard a thump. I drove back to check and there he was, dead as Dillinger, his eyes wide open, lying on back in the middle of the road. I was cruising along at about 160 kph when this thing came out and stopped, staring right at me. I drifted a little to allow him to straddle between my wheels... but he forgot to duck!
